ALAN Mobilizes in Wake of Tropical Storm Laura & Marco

We are busily preparing for Hurricane Laura’s arrival along the Gulf Coast. A significant geographic swath of the US has potential to be affected by the storm’s landfall and cross-country trek to the Atlantic.

As we work through our understanding and response, we may be in touch with specific questions, or requests for assistance with identifying support for our logistics needs. I am ever grateful for your support of our work. I’ve shared a couple questions / hypotheses with some of you already, but as of yet we don’t have any specific requests for logistics support. We know transportation will be needed – and we know that finding donated capacity may be exceptionally difficult in the current market. I ask that if you are aware of any offers of support – products, services, or otherwise – where the donor is unsure where they may be most effective, please share them with us. We can help match these offers with trusted nonprofit organizations who can put them to their highest and best use. You can also direct them to make those offers on our website at https://www.alanaid.org/offer.

Likewise, if you or any of your members need any type of assistance – connections, information, etc. – please feel free to reach out. I think many of you are by now adept at navigating the government emergency management processes, but we are absolutely here to help if there are any questions.
