New Commerce – Design, Network and Real Estate Impacts (Bryan Jensen - Chairman & Exec. Vice President)

The growth of e-commerce has affected supply chain networks (facility locations and their mission), influenced facility design for both major hubs and last mile e-commerce facilities and pressured real estate markets to find or develop new locations for all the links in the e-commerce and retail supply chains. All these pressures, and the changes in reaction to them, are effectively defining the needs for what could be called the “newCommerce” supply chain.  The last three months have accelerated some of the these trends dramatically, slowed some and changed the course of others.  Join us for an exploration of how networks are changing to meet the challenges of direct to consumer customer demands as e-commerce volume waxes (very rapidly in the last three months) and brick and mortar volume wanes, how assets in retail supply are shifting in their roles to address the changing mix of e-commerce and brick and mortar volumes and what the most recent Covid19 driven increases in e-commerce mean for the future of both.

Presented by: St. Onge Company
